1968 Chevrolet Impala SS427 2D Hardtop. Complete Numbers Matching Front To Back. Fully Documented Since New!!! 2 Owner Car. This is not to be confused with an Impala SS with a big engine! This is a Regular Production Option (RPO) Z-24, more commonly known as the Impala SS427. "Z-24" was Chevrolet's option code for a package of high performance options centered around the 427 CI V-8 engine. This SS427 is powered by a matching -numbered Code L-36 427CI/385HP engine mated to a four-speed transmission. It has a 3:73 posi -12 bolt rear end, retains its original interior and has had one repaint. One of 1,778 produced in 1968 and one of possibly only 70 matching numbers cars remaining. This is one of the rarest Chevrolet Super Sports. This car graced the cover of “Hemmings Motor News” in January of 2007.
